Nathan P. Snyder, Conductor

Nathan P. Snyder comes to the Merion Concert Band with ten years of conducting experience. His conducting training began at Susque­hanna University, where he studied under Dr. Valerie Martin, focus­ing primarily on chamber music. Mr. Snyder has further training with Mallory Thompson, Craig Kirchoff, H. Robert Reynolds and Eugene Migliaro Corporon. He has previously served on the faculty of the William Penn and Gurnee (IL) School Districts and has conducted bands from elementary through collegiate and beyond. Mr. Snyder received his appointment as conductor of the Merion Concert Band in Februry 2010.

An active performer, Mr. Snyder plays clarinet and bass clarinet with the Southeast­ern Pennsylvania Symphony Orchestra, Eastern Wind Symphony and Montgomery County Concert Band. He is a former member of the Williamsport Symphony and while residing in Illinois played with the Northshore Concert Band, West Suburban Symphony and Dekalb Municipal Band. Mr. Snyder teaches private clarinet and saxophone lessons from his home.

Mr. Snyder resides in Blue Bell with his wife and two daughters, to whom he is a full time stay-at-home dad.  His mission is to bring the best in concert band music to the world through great live performances.
